As required by federal law through IDEA (Individuals with Disabilities Education Act) and Section 504 as a part of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, Kensington Woods Schools are committed to providing quality education to all students, including students with special needs or disabilities.
In collaboration with Livingston Educational Service Agency, we follow a plan for the delivery of services to students with special needs using a non-labeled, full inclusion approach to special education. We provide these services in adherence with the Michigan Department of Special Education's Administrative Rules. Kensington Woods Schools provides Special Education support for students with educational disabilities in all grades. Any student suspected of having a disability receives a thorough evaluation by a team of general and special education professionals.
Kensington Woods also provides general education accommodation plans under the provisions of Section 504 of the Americans with Disabilities Act.
