Principal's Message

Kensington Woods is a small, personal middle and high school with a focus on post-secondary success located in Livingston County. Established in 1995, Kensington Woods is one of Michigan’s oldest and most established charter schools.

In our environment of high engagement and high expectations, we believe that with the guidance and instruction of our teachers and staff, students feel encouraged to bring their best and be empowered to take charge of their learning, building the skills and acquiring the knowledge necessary to achieve success in college and become lifelong learners. Here you will find a strong school culture centered on the principles of hard work, high expectations, personal responsibility and powerful thinking. 

Kensington Woods is a different kind of place where our students value the unique qualities of our school. Our academic content is driven by the Michigan Merit Curriculum, SAT college readiness standards and real life connections.  Our instruction is founded on best practices in educating the whole child and the foundation of our success is building strong and positive relationships with our students.

Our History

Kensington Woods is authorized by Central Michigan University and serviced by Livingston Educational Service Agency.
